The Hydrorider AquaTreadmill is a unique Aquatic Treadmill made of marine stainless steel AISI316L (rust roof.). The Hydrorider AquaTreadmill platform is made of 308 rolls that rotate over flexible shock absorbing supports. There is neither mechanic resistance nor motor moving the rolls.
The user has to press a foot downwards whilst also sliding their foot against the opposing force of the water. Once the leg has completed the full range of the movement, the user should return the foot to the front of the treadmill and start again.
Walking and running on land has few side effects besides those provoked by the body weight exerting pressure on the body’s joints and spine. However, in water the weight effect on our body improving balance and blood circulation.
Users shall receive all the physical benefits of land based alternatives but additionally receive benefits which may only be received though exercising in water.
a. Buoyancy- When using the Aqua Treadmill professional in shallow water, the body’s mass is reduced to approximately 50% of what it is on land. In deeper water the body’s mass impacting on joints is reduced a further 40% leaving 10% of the body’s mass is impacting on joints – ideal for participants on a rehabilitation programme or athletes returning from injury
b. Water density - Reduced risk of injury to ligaments, tendons, muscles and joints is dramatically lowered, because they are supported by density.
c. Hydrostatic pressure - aids the lymphatic, respiratory and cardiovascular systems.
